Mikayla is a warm, sweet old soul who's music feels like an extension of her. She sings up worlds and places that feel out of time, created in sound when she sings and plays, and it is pure aural wonderment and delightful. Everything by Mikayla is highly recommended, but this one is especially good.

Love this dubby twinged take on country, honkey-tonk, and folkey blue-eyed gospel. Subtle horns, nicely stacked background vox arrangements. Seems like something you'd hear in one of Greg Vandy's gospel geared country sets, on www.kexp.org hodgepodgenoodlehead
